WELCOME TO IRC'S SUMMER ACADEMY.

THIS YEAR, FOR SIX WEEKS,

WE ARE ONE BIG FAMILY.

WE ARE ONE BIG COMMUNITY.

- THE IRC'S REFUGEE SUMMER ACADEMY

TODAY, WE SERVE MORE THAN

120 STUDENTS FROM 20 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD,

SPEAKING AS MANY LANGUAGES.

BECAUSE HIS DAUGHTER IS SICK,

AND THAT'S A BIG RESPONSIBILITY FOR A PERSON MY AGE,

ESPECIALLY IN THE FACT THAT

I'M NOT WORKING. I'M STILL IN SCHOOL.

SAFE ZONE FOR GEORGE.

GEORGE WAS SEEKING US OUT.

- THE IRC HELPED ME TO, LIKE, UM,

DEAL WITH MY ANGER,

AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT

SOME OF THE THINGS

I'VE BEEN HOLDING INSIDE FOR A LONG TIME.

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR NOW.

SAYS A LOT ABOUT NEW YORK,

THAT THEY COULD ALL BE HERE TOGETHER

AND IT NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

[WOODWIND MUSIC]
