- Howdy folks, thanks for tuning in

to Song of the Mountains.

I'm your host Tim White.

We have another great hour of music to showcase

on our program.

So to kick it off, we have Six String Soldiers.

They're a five-member acoustic group

performing bluegrass, country, folk, and Americana music.

Now before coming together in our nation's capital,

these active duty soldiers served overseas in Iraq,

Korea, Germany, and Belgium.

They've performed in concert with legends John Fogerty,

Darryl Worley, and Harry Connick, Jr.,

and have received national attention on Conan,

Morning Express with Robin Meade,

and Home and Family.

On the stage of the Lincoln Theatre,

we bring you Six String Soldiers.

- Six String Soldiers here on Song of the Mountains.

Now next up on the program,

we bring back Wayne Henderson and Jeff Little.

Wayne Henderson is an Appalachian guitarist

that Nashville pickers talk about.

Sometimes Wayne's picking is mistaken for flat picking.

But he actually uses a thumb pick and finger picks

to achieve amazing speed and fluidity.

Jeff Little's approach on the piano is based

on deep musical traditions of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

His distinctive two-handed style much influenced

by the mountain flat pick guitar tradition

is breathtaking in its speed, precision, and clarity.

We love bringing them back to the program this evening.

Here's Wayne Henderson and Jeff Little.

Rolling Stone named 15-year-old EmiSunshine

among 10 new country artists you need to know.

But she's more than country.

With music described as old-timey,

the East Tennessee native has her own

unique contemporary blend of roots music

that is equal parts Americana, bluegrass,

gospel, blues, and jazz.

Here on Song of the Mountains,
