ABOUT THE PROGRAM
TRANSCRIPT

Hafa adai everyone, Auntie Heidi here.

Hope you all had a good week.

So before we hand it over to Micah,

we just want to catch up, make sure everybody's good and get

started on completing and recording this song.

All right, here we go.

Kutturan Chamoru Foundation

started in 1993 by my mother-in-law.

Due to Covid the city of Long Beach

shut down all of their Parks and Recreation facilities.

We quickly had to move to online classes.

So when I talked about KCF, I talked about tradition,

I talked about culture and I talked about legacy, right?

What does this chant want to say about our group?

This is going to be attached to our group now

What story do you want to tell about us to our audience?

When we started to meet

we noticed that we didn't have a digital library, that we

needed some digital way to work together and to create songs

and chants without stopping

and thinking about the future. We knew that we wanted to move

forward. Coming through?

Awesome. Hafa todus.

I'm so excited to be doing this.

The goal is writing a chant together,

specifically putting this on a stage or when, you know,

whenever in the future

we can get a time to be together.

All you're doing is you're promoting it to stretch.

It's like baby Chewbacca.

How does he do that?

I'm sorry, I went too far.

So, let me know.

I think we lost her.

O Saina is

my personal favorite,

Sorry.

He agrees.

Covid really affected me because culturally we gather,

we're a very touchy feely, family oriented type of culture.

But I want to instill in them that it can be done, to feel

like they are a part of the growth and the future of

Kutturan Chamoru Foundation. It's a different type of project.

So we're gonna Bluetooth to the Zoom.

Shai's trying to help me.

We're gonna be just to the Zoom so that we only hear it here.

We're going to record ourselves on the phone.

Exactly,

that's exactly it.

Here we go.

I'm going to play from the top.
