So, for those of you who don't know much about my story...

First of all, can I just say that I'm extremely excited

to be able to play almost every single song

off of my record tonight.

[ Cheering ]

I don't get to do that very often.

For those of you who don't know my story and where I come from,

I come from a small town in Kentucky,

and when I was 16 years old, I convinced my parents

to let me quit high school because I saw an audition

to sing in the country show at Dollywood.

Have y'all ever been to Dollywood, New York?

[ Cheering ]

Do I have any Dolly Parton fans in New York City.

[ Cheering ]

Good.

So I homeschooled and I moved to Pigeon Forge

and sang in the country show because I've always had

this dream of singing country music.

And I think that no matter where we call our hometown,

you can relate to me that, when you are a teenager,

you want to get as far away from your parents

and as far away from your hometown as you can.

And looking back now, I would give anything to be able

to go sit at the kitchen table with my grandpa

and just tell 16-year-old Carly that she should look around

and understand that she's never gonna get this time back,

and she's gonna miss this place someday.

So I want all of you to insert

your own hometown into this song.

Well...

it's hard for me to put into words

what the last year has been for me.

-Whoo! -We love you!

-I love you, too.

[ Cheering ]

All I've ever wanted to do is sing country music,

and I even think about coming to New York last October

and putting out this album and being terrified

and not knowing what was going to happen,

and little did I know that, because of all of you

country music fans that show up to shows

and you sing every word to every song

and you buy our music and you turn it up on the radio,

you changed every little thing for me!

[ Cheering ]

And I never knew that heartbreak

and something so painful could end up being so beautiful.

And I wrote this song about a broken heart,

and not only did you make this my very first number one...

[ Cheering ]

...but you gave me a CMT Music Award

for Breakthrough Video of the Year.

[ Cheering ]

And, y'all, I got to do this on national television,

and I'm just saying, it felt pretty good.

I got to say this.

"To the guy that broke my heart..."

"...thank you!"

[ Cheering ]

Y'all sing it with me.
