The Watts Towers Arts Center was founded by artists and educators in the 1960s and has been a beacon of art and culture in the community for decades. This episode features the work of artists including Noah Purifoy, John Outterbridge, Betye Saar, Charles White and Mark Steven Greenfield.

The Watts Towers has been a focal point of creativity
for a long time.
That creativity is ongoing.
We have fine art in Watts, and it's been going on sixty one years
because of the Watts Towers Arts Center Campus.
-It's like a refuge.
-An opportunity to express themselves, because that's what
we fought for: the ability to be free.
-Here I am. I'm Black, and if you don't like it, too bad!
