♪ The remembrance fall at you

- Good evening, I'm Paul Allen Hunton,

general manager of Texas Tech Public Media.

Tonight, we bring you a special

that is seven years in the making.

I started the show 24 Frames in the summer of 2012.

Within the first few episodes,

the web series, The South Plains Sessions,

caught my eye.

I reached out to the creators of that show,

Daniel Ballard and Jonathan Seaborn,

about including it on the show.

Since then, they've both actually

joined the team here at KTTZ TV

and have continued making The South Plains Sessions.

It has changed a bit, over the years,

from the first time they sat down with Daniel Fluitt,

until the last official South Plains Session,

with the band We Can't Help You.

The main goal has always been to celebrate the talent

here on the South Plains.

We recently held an online battle of the bands

over the summer,

where you all voted on your favorite sessions.

Now, I'm excited to share

some of those performances with you.

First up, we have Glass Cannon.

we've grown from only two cameras

and your viewership and donations

to keep this show going.

Still, there's something nice

about the simplicity of those

first few stripped down acoustic performances.

- We only have one song left in our countdown

of your favorite South Plains Sessions.

But before we get to that,

I wanna talk about some exciting changes that are coming.

Recently, it was announced that Texas Tech Public Media

will be merging with El Paso's PBS station, KCOS.

So as we expand our reach,

the name The South Plains Sessions

just doesn't quite work anymore.

By no means are we done with music.

We are just expanding

and plan to include artists from both El Paso and Lubbock.

Moving forward, these musical performances

will live on a new series, Sound on Tap,

which starts October fifth with All Get Out.

Now, for the winner of our online battle of the bands,

Hidden Indians.
