May 30 marks the anniversary of the official end of the nine-month rescue and recovery operation at the World Trade Center following the 9/11 attacks. This operation, as well as those near Shanksville, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon, left hundreds of thousands affected by exposure to hazards and toxins in the aftermath of the attacks. Their courage, selflessness and perseverance will be permanently recognized by the 9/11 Memorial Glade, to open this year on Thursday, May 30.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum, in partnership with ALL ARTS and Choir! Choir! Choir!, will present the special community sing to coincide with the 9/11 Memorial Glade dedication. The evening program will pay tribute to those who are sick or have died because of 9/11 illnesses, their families and all those who responded when the nation needed it most.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Program begins in the Museum’s Foundation Hall at 5:00 p.m. An RSVP is required. Head to the main event page for more details.
