Poster House and the Museum of the Dog are joining forces for a paw-sitively fun evening filled with cocktails and iconic dog posters. Poster House Chief Curator Angelina Lippert will be joined by Swann Auction Galleries’ Nicholas Lowry and the Green Fairy Society’s Don Spiro. The evening’s cocktails can be found on the Poster House website.
Isadora on the Beach
When: July 29 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern
Where: Rockaway Beach; Brooklyn
Escape to the beach for a performance from Dances by Isadora, a non-profit group directed by Catherine Gallant. The performance will feature beach-adapted versions of choreographer Isadora Duncan’s 1914 “Grand March” “Water Study,” “Tanagra Figures” and “Narcissus.” Dancers include Catherine Gallant, Loretta Thomas, Marie Carstens, Natalia Brillante, Francesca Todesco, Jessie King, Abra Cohen, Corinne Shearer, Holly Mitchell, Kathleen Caragine, Rosy Gentle and Colleen Edwards.
Summer Movies Under the Stars: “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”
When: July 29 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern
Where: Long Meadow in Prospect Park; Brooklyn
The annual outdoor movie series Summer Movies Under the Stars — presented by Showtime and hosted by Brooklyn Magazine, Prospect Park Alliance and the office of the Brooklyn Borough President — makes its big-screen return with a screening of 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” Subsequent outdoor films will be shown every Thursday through Aug. 19.
Carnegie Hall Citywide: Adrienne Warren & Friends
When: July 30 at 7 p.m. Eastern
Where: Bryant Park; Manhattan
Broadway’s Adrienne Warren takes the stage as part of Bryant Park’s “Picnic Performances” series and the “Carnegie Hall Citywide” program. Proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test is required to attend the performance.
BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Opening Night Concert
When: July 31 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell; Brooklyn
The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival is back at the Prospect Park Bandshell with a stellar opening night headlined by musician Ari Lennox, who will be joined by artist, rapper and poet KAMAUU. Special guest artists include Adeline and Nesta. While the event is free and open to the public, space is limited, so be sure to grab your favorite outdoor concert gear and arrive early.
