Broadway show tunes for when you need a cathartic cry

These days, it’s hard to get out of bed, look around and not feel like having a good cry. And that’s okay. Crying can be therapeutic. But in case you need help exercising those tear ducts, our friends at PBS’s Great Performances put together a playlist of the most gut-wrenching show tunes, thanks to the suggestions of the Broadway’s Best Facebook group members.

From well-known classics like “I Dreamed a Dream” from “Les Misérables” and “Send in the Clowns” from ” A Little Night Music,” to lesser-known gems like “It All Fades Away” from “Bridges of Madison County” and “Absolution” from “Bare,” they’ve got something to get you sobbing like Evan Hansen when the truth hit the fan.

Be sure to join the Broadway’s Best for Great Performances Facebook Group and comment there with your go-to “ugly cry” show tune.
