In the season finale of ALL ARTS digital series “Broadway Sandwich,” “Hamilton” cast member Tanairi Sade Vazquez opened up about the challenges her immigrant parents faced during their first few years in the U.S.
Vazquez, who is an ensemble member in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash hit, recalled her parents cleaning dance studios and working extra hours to afford her performance classes. She said the story of Alexander Hamilton — an immigrant from the Caribbean who became one of the founding fathers of the U.S. — reminded her of her own family’s struggle.
